15) Sandisk 128 GB (58 Euro) vs Samsung 128 GB (70 Euro).

What SSD to choose?

Well, I cloned the 128 GB Samsung 840 EVO to a 128 GB Sandisk and tested both of them under the exact same circomstances.

The Sandisk is cheaper: 57,99 Euro in stead of 69,99 Euro for the Samsung at this moment.

Test settings:
- both installed in laptop;
- both same cloned installation optimized for SSD (trim, no indexing, no pagefile, etc);
- transfer rate SATA connection: SATA II (max 3 GB/s).

Interesting enough there are 2 main differences:
- the Sandisk is much faster in writing SEQ and 4K.
- the Sandisk is much slower in reading 4 K.

Samsung 840 EVO                                                      Sandisk

So its best to use the Samsung for running windows and programs for fast startup and multitasking and I think I will use the Sandisk for making fast backups in de HDD Caddy.
